About

Andrew Barr is a self-taught photographer whose main interest has always been the built environment. Most of his images, whether shot in medium or large format film or with high end digital capture, will include something made by man.

His education and major interest is in historic preservation and would much rather document an old building slated for demolition than something newly built. He has photographed for historic commissions, architects and design/build firms from Cape Cod to the MA 495 belt. His images have appeared in Cape Cod newspapers, the Provincetown Arts magazine and New England Home magazine.

He provides documentation for construction companies, historic structure reports, national register nominations as well as preservation organizations and private homeowners.

He is the founding chair of the Architectural Photography Network at the Boston Society of Architects and a member of the New England Analog Photography Users Group (www.apug.org)
